Universal Orlando Resorts needed a number of repairs to stormwater drainage control structures for various ponds both inside and outside of their park. The repairs completed by Enviro-Tech Systems, Inc. (ETS) included correcting operable weir elevations, modifying overflow weir assembly to provide desirable discharge elevations and rates, installing fiberglass skimmers around weir openings, constructing concrete weir walls, installing new manhole access points, and reducing weir window sizes. The project required confined space entry as all the structures were inside manholes. Further, ETS had to custom fabricate solutions to design flaws in the field.

ETS completed this project despite two major hurricanes impacting Central Florida during the course of the repairs. Additionally, repairs made inside the park were made during overnight hours to avoid disturbances to the Halloween Horror Nights event. This required intensive coordination with Universal’s personnel and security team.
